An Evening of Opera with
Ilona Domnich- Soprano
Rodney Clark-Bariton
Timothy Burke- Conductor
Riverside Opera chorus
Normansfield Theatre, 12th July, 7:30pm, Teddington
Riverside Opera Company are simply the loveliest people that I worked for. There is so much enthusiasm and real love for music and singing, that it brings a huge positive energy to the performance.
It is amazing how much one can learn in one evening. I love talking to people and learn a lot from their experiences. Starting from conversation about the modern teenagers with Ronnie Ingram(Director). The importance of family union and doing things together. Talking to the lovely chorus members about children and their linguistic development. Talking to a wonderful baritone Rodney Clark about the demands of being an opera singer in England and how does it work...or does not work. Who also helped me to memorize few extra lines of recit. in Italian, which I was not told to prepare in advance. A true colleague! Followed by conversation about food allergies with a 15 year old genius pianist Patrick and his dad. Followed by a talk with an organist about nerves on stage, i.e how to deal with it. Talking about liking or hating famous sopranos with David Eaton and Tim Burke mother on one side and about weddings on the other, while eating a lovely lobster soup. And finishing with a lovely chat with the Conductor Tim Burke. Who has such engaging personality, kind and sweet smile and such positive and professional attitude.
An amazing evening which I really enjoyed. But the most important thing is that I was feeling relaxed in this environment and enjoyed the singing.
